Physical Medicine

What is physical medicine?

Relaxing the muscles and moving the joints into proper alignment allows energy to flow smoothly through the body and healing to occur.

Often you can tell just by observing the patient, based on skin changes, temperature changes, and fullness, where there may be reduced blood flow and stagnant energy. Touching the patient provides additional information in order to diagnose any misalignments and allow proper correction to occur. This is similar to what you would expect to experience from a visit to a chiropractor.

Physical medicine can also include the use of electrical stimulation, heat/cold, and vibration. These methods can stimulate nerves to relax muscles, decrease swelling, increase endorphins, decrease pain, stimulate circulation and promote clearance of waste products.
